How to get started with IT support

No technical knowledge is needed, and you do not have to choose the right service before getting in touch.

It is fine if you cannot identify or describe the problem precisely.

Call Harrison and explain what you can see. He will confirm the most practical remote or onsite route, scope and cost before paid work begins.

What happens next

  1. Share the problem in your own words.
  2. Harrison confirms whether remote help, an onsite visit or a scoped quote is the sensible route.
  3. The scope and cost are agreed before paid work starts.

If you know them, useful details to share

  • What device, account or service is affected
  • What you were trying to do
  • Any exact error or warning text
  • What you have already tried
  • Your location if an onsite visit may be needed

Screenshots and technical details can help, but they are optional. A simple explanation is enough to start.

Common first requests

  • Home Wi-Fi, device and email problems, plus fixed-price printer setup
  • Small-business Microsoft 365 and account access
  • New device setup and data moves
  • Backup, security and recovery questions

Charities and community organisations can use the same route.

Customers joining an ongoing-support arrangement receive an initial onboarding health check at no additional charge. It is not a free standalone assessment.

Before you contact WITS

Do I need to know exactly what service I need?

No. Describe the problem in plain English and Harrison will suggest the most practical route.

What should I include?

Include a short description, the device or service involved, any error text, your location if a visit may be needed and how urgent it is. Screenshots are useful but optional.

Can I call before I know which service I need?

Yes. Call Harrison and explain what is happening in your own words. He will help identify the right next step.

Should I book or send a message?

Book if you already know you want support time. Send a message if you want Harrison to check whether the issue needs remote support, onsite help or a quote.

Will I be charged for making an enquiry?

There is no charge for making an enquiry. Any paid work is confirmed before it starts.
